Air Barrier

Envelope, Roofing & Weatherproofing
Also known asAir Tightness Barrier

An Air Barrier is a continuous system of materials and seals that stops uncontrolled air leakage through the building envelope while still allowing designed ventilation. It cuts energy loss and prevents condensation within wall build-ups. In data centers a tight air barrier stabilises the conditioned envelope, reduces infiltration loads on the cooling plant and protects the shell from moisture migration and humidity swings.
