An Anycast Gateway is a distributed default gateway in which many leaf switches share the same gateway IP and MAC address for a given subnet. A host's traffic is handled by whichever leaf it is connected to, eliminating hairpinning to a central router and enabling seamless workload mobility. It is a standard feature of EVPN-VXLAN fabrics, also called a distributed anycast gateway.
