A Main Substation is the primary on-site or dedicated facility that receives incoming utility power, transforms it to the site's distribution voltage, and switches and protects the supply to downstream systems. It is a critical, often single-line-diagram-defining asset whose capacity, redundancy and layout shape the whole power architecture of the campus.
